About Psoriasis

What Is Psoriasis?

Psoriasis is an auto-immune disease that affects the skin. It is characterized by slightly bumpy red patches covered with silver-white scales that cause burning and itching.

This disease affects almost 3% of the population age 11 to 45. It often affects elbows, knees, the lower back, and the scalp [1]. According to numerous testimonials we have been gathering for more than 18 years, wearing the Pure Hazelwood necklace or bracelet is an effective way to reduce inflammation caused by psoriasis.

What Causes Psoriasis?

Normally, skin cells renew every 21 to 28 days. According to many experts, the skin of psoriasis patient renews in 2 to 6 days. This frantic pace causes an accumulation of dead and living cells on the surface of the skin [2].

Contrary to most other auto-immune diseases, psoriasis is not caused by a specific gene, but by an «  unlucky » combination of many genes. The first patches are often triggered by something such as :

  • A stressful event
  • A wound or skin lesion
  • A septic sore throat

Afterwards, many factors [3] are likely to worsen existing patches :

  • Stress
  • Drastic climate changes
  • Smoking or excessive alcohol consumption
  • Some cosmetics (hair spray, hand lotion, facial treatments, etc.)

Psoriasis is not contagious.

Psoriasis Treatment

Psoriasis being a chronic disease, it is almost impossible to stop it completely. However, there are some ways to minimize flare ups. To do this, it is crucial to consult a physician in order to determine the appropriate treatment depending on the severity of lesions.

« I have had psoriasis on my feet for 20 years. I had pimples, liquid leaking from my pimples, psoriasis burned my skin and my feet hurt constantly. That’s not to mention the embarrassment: I didn’t like my feet and I hid them all the time. The pharmacy where I get my medication told me about Pure Hazelwood. I was very skeptical after having tried many products with the same lack of results. I decided to give it a try. And, yes! What a relief! After two months, I don’t have any more psoriasis, and I only have a few scars left. THANK YOU PURE HAZELWOOD! »
